DIY Sinus Allergy Relief Sticks Recipe. How to Make a Natural Balm Tube for Congested and Irritated Noses (and Eyes Too!) - homemade on-the-go treatment with essential oils.

This next DIY has become a REAL life-saver for me, and those of you suffering from seasonal allergies know WHAT a miracle it is to get at least some relief from this non-stop hell of itchy eyes, irritated nose and migraine headaches. So when I came across this sinus (+under eye) balm and saw that it has only natural ingredients, I thought I'd give it a shot and try to make my own similar version at home. And honestly, I don't think I've ever home-made a product that made me feel THAT good, because it literally brings me back to life! And it couldn't be easier to make:-)

INGREDIENTS: (makes 2-3 tubes, depending on the tube size)
  • o.1 oz Beeswax Beads
  • 1/2 tsp  Coconut Oil
  • 1/3 tsp  Oil (Olive, Grapeseed, Almond & etc.) - choose the one that your skin "likes" the most
  • a few drops of Peppermint Oil - has a great cooling effect, opens airways, fights infection, relieves headaches, and has excellent anti-inflammatory properties.
  • a few drops of Eucalyptus Oil - fights congestions, headaches and respiratory problems.
  • a few drops of Lavender Oil - acts as natural antihistamine (blocking allergic reactions), has calming and relaxing properties.
  • Lip Balm Tubes - I simply emptied my lip balms;-)
HOW I MAKE IT:

I use double boiler method: I put beeswax, coconut oil and vegetable oil togethet in a small pan. Then take a frying pan, pour some water in it, put it on medium heat and place my small pan with oils and wax into the water. Once beeswax melts, I add essentials oils, mix everything together and pour the mixture into the tubes. Then I put the tubes into the fridge for a few hours to harden. And that's it!

I'm now seriously addicted to these guys - I always have one in my purse and one - in desk drawer. And whenever I need to, I apply the balm under my nose, as well as below and above my eyes. And that's how I stay "alive";-)))
Stay well, guys!

  12. Sorry if this has already been mentioned, there were alot so i didnt read ALL... To help with your allergies find a farmers market or health food store that sells LOCAL RAW honey...local to your area, and i've found that recent from the current season even makes a huge difference... its like an all natural pollen vaccine... of course it doesn't cover mold/dust bunny allergies, but spring/fall pollen allergies it works great on... my daughter and I have used this method successfully in California, Indiana, Florida and now Maryland, for two years now (she's three and you can give infants under one honey)... I'm a huge honey advocate, so figured i'd share!

Mayo Clinic found that fungus causes Chronic Sinusitis.
    http://www.princeton.edu/~gpmenos/mold_facts/MayoClinicStudyImplicatesFungusasCauseofChronicSinusi.pdf

My booklet explains how to kill that fungus by reintroducing selected "Friendly" bacteria directly into the sinuses. These bacteria are normally present in your sinuses, but are killed by antibiotics and/or other means typically used to treat Chronic Sinusitis. Orally consumed bacteria will not reach the sinuses, to eliminate that fungus.

  19. I suffer from congested sinus once in a while which is from post-cyst removal surgery on my sinus. I would normally take decongestants to start "smelling" again. This would be a good alternative, I would love to try this out and hoping for positive results!
