Dollar Store DIY Craft: Homemade Natural Aromatherapy Ideas with Products from Dollar Tree

Hi, everyone! I have yet another Dollar Store post for you (OMG, why does that frugal place inspire so much creativity in me?;-) Anyway, I thought I'd share some of the natural aromatherapy ideas I came up with for my home and car recently - all with mostly Dollar Tree products, plus SUPER easy and quick to implement;-)

1. DIY Car Air Fresheners (very cute and easy to customize):

I used:
  1. Craft Foam Sheets (Dollar Tree)
  2. Felt Sheets (Dollar Tree)
  3. Glue (Dollar Tree)
  4. Lace Fabric, Shoe Lace (got mine at Dollar Tree)
I cut out foam sheets in the desired shape, then glued felt shapes on both sides of each foam shape. I used pictures below to show you how I made flower and hearts fresheners. I usually put a few drops on my freshener for the night so that it smells nicely in the morning, and then a few drops for the day. (I'm using hearts right now - so adorable AND unique;-)

2. Oil Warmer:
When I saw these small  oil warmers in Dollar Tree a few months ago, I felt like magic happened to me that moment, because, just before I went shopping, I had put a new $9 oil warmer in my Amazon shopping cart (thank God I hadn't checked out;-) - I really wanted a brown one for my bedroom and that one was the cheapest brown warmer I could find there. And then I saw this cutie at Dollar Tree:
I bought the bottles for my oil online, but I think you can find cute bottles at some Dollar Stores too. I usually use my warmer with lavender oil right before bed, then apply warm oil to my cuticles and put moisturizing gloves for the night. Btw, I buy those gloves, as well as tealight candles and candle lighters at Dollar Tree also;-)
3. Reed Diffuser:
Now, this project can be considered unfinished for the purpose of this post - I'm planning on using Dollar Store products to make my diffuser once I need to change the reeds that I'm reusing  right now from my Pacifica diffuser. I will then buy skewers and a taller vase at Dollar Tree plus I will keep on using those cute branches with butterflies as a decor (also from a DT bouquet). For the fragrance oil I use a mixture of olive oil (fill up about 2/3 of the bottle) and approx.15 drops of essential oil. I LOVE how perfectly this diffuser belongs on my office desk;-)

4. Potpourri:
I mentioned this Dollar Store potpourri twice already in My Aromatherapy Routine and Dollar Store Kitchen posts. I just LOVE how it looks - could you have ever guessed it was from a Dollar Store? For the fragrance I combine distilled water with a few drops of essential oil in a spray bottle (also from DT) and - Voila! It's my ideal kitchen aromatherapy solution, especially since I try to stick to as much green colored decor in it as possible right now;-)

5. Rose Aroma Petals:
This one is my ideal solution for dressing room - it looks beautiful yet it's very functional and does its aroma job perfectly! This project was also once mentioned in My Aromatherapy Routine post before.
I used:
  1. Fabric Rose Petals - a bag of 100 in a wedding section of Dollar Tree
  2. Spray Bottle (Dollar Tree)
  3. Plate for Petals (I got a heart-shaped one at DT)
  4. Cute Tin for storing petals (I got mine at DT)
  5. Distilled Water
  6. Essential oils
I simply usually put petals into the tin, spray with mixture of distilled water and essential oils, close the lid and leave sit for the night. (Don't use a paper box for that though, because it will get oil stains from the spray mixture) In the morning I put petals into the plate and let the room absorb the smell throughout the day;-)

  2. Another great DIY post. I think I need Dollar store! We don't have anything similar in here. Hard to find anything cheap, that's why I love online shopping. :)

Whenever I take a look at your website in Safari,
it looks fine however, when opening in IE, it has some overlapping issues.
I merely wanted to provide you with a quick heads up!

    1. Ha-ha, thank you, Kato;-)))) Your comments are by FAR my most favorite together with Elenita's;-) I actually do have some sort of phobia when it comes to smells. For ex. Andrey once was eating in my bedroom - the very last room in the house - and left a ketchup bottle open and I could smell it the moment I entered the house - that's when I realized how much of a freak I am;-)))
