6 Tricks that Sure Help Me Lose Weight:

1. Drinking Lemon Water: Lemons are high in pectin fiber, which helps fight false hunger cravings.

2. Eating with chopsticks and smaller utensils: Remember the 20 min rule? Smaller utensils prevent me from overeating within those first 20 min, before I know I've overeaten;-)

3. Snacking instead of eating: This trick might not work for everybody, but has always been perfect for me! I never eat... meals. I only snack. I hate sitting at a table with a plate, spoon and other stuff. When I snack I can do other things at the same time and that prevents me from overeating, because I don't get carried away with my meal. So I have 6-7 snacks a day that prevent me from getting hungry and get my metabolism working evenly all the time.
My snacks from yesterday: Jamba Juice smoothie with plain yogurt+orange+apple+blueberries, peanuts, coffee with multigrain pita chips.
4. Aromatherapy and music: We sometimes turn to food when we don't have enough "flavor" in our lives. To avoid doing that we need to stimulate sensations in some other healthier way, and aromatherapy can do just that. You can read my previous post to see what my aromatherapy routine is. That also applies to music - favorite tunes fill me up with positive energy and I don't have to seek "happiness" elsewhere (like in junk food).
5. Brushing teeth and washing mouth often: when my mouth is fresh, I instinctively want to keep it that way and won't eat anything unless I'm really hungry;-) Plus, there are so many "on the go" oral hygiene options that leave me with no excuse to come up with to not keep my mouth fresh!
 6. Not saying "No": I try not to say "no" to fatty, junk and other bad foods. I simply try to think of every "no" as "yes" to a healthier and prettier me. Negative thoughts hurt our spirit, but positive thoughts - encourage and make us stronger;-)

What are your guys' tricks that help you lose weight? I have so many gorgeous blogger friends here and I'd LOVE to know how you, ladies, manage to stay in such amazing shapes!:-)

  1. I'm totally with you on the toothbrushing trick. When I want a late night snack, I brush and rinse with mouthwash instead; then guzzle ice water. ;)

  3. Lovely post, Maria. Nice tips how to lose weight. (btw, I always get excited when I see you posted something:D)

I eat meals, but they are small, so I don't overeat. I eat at least 4 times a day. I exercise every day, high intensity training max 20 minut.
I avoid sugary thing, to keep my sugar at the same level. I eat fruits and natural sweeteners (honey, stevia..). I don't eat anything fried, try to make all my food at home to know exactly what I'm eating. I drink lots of water and green tea during the day.
Think positive, meditation and keeping myself occupied help a lot too.
And think of all the pretty clothes you can buy, because when I was heavier, I didn't fit in any pretty clothes!
I feel like I'm writing a blog post now :D

  10. This was really helpful. I tend to overeat, and am trying to eat better, I eat healthy stuff, but to much of it. Doesn't help that eating fast runs in my family.
