Hello, everyone! I hope your weekend is going fantastic;-) Well, I have a bit of a surprise for you, guys;-) I'm starting a new series of posts called Problem Solved, where I'll be sharing with you my experiences in solving some of the problems and challenges that many of us face in our lives. From beauty and health, to money and technology - anything that I had a solution for that worked for me will be shared here with you, guys! And since this is my very first post in this series, I decided to "cheat" and choose an easy, yet extremely important problem to discuss with you which is - finding simple tricks to improve your health and well-being. Ok, let's get this problem solved!;-)
Problem: I Want to Eat Healthy, but I Hate Eating Green Vegetables!
How to get your daily serving of green vegetables WITHOUT eating them?
My first thought was to start juicing, cause drinking is always easier than chewing, right? Well, I had a problem with that, cause I have neither time nor desire to clean the juicer every day. Well, to be honest, I have some phobia about creating a mess in the kitchen, that's why I rarely cook and think of the dishwasher as one of the greatest inventions of the humanity. Seriously! But juicer can't be cleaned in the dishwasher, so I had to look elsewhere. I actually started buying freshly squeezed green juices in places like Jamba Juice, Robeks Juice and natural food stores. The problem with that - I don't always have time to drive there, cause, unfortunately, their businesses aren't thriving as much as Starbucks' and McDonalds' and they're not on every corner of the streets - hopefully, just yet! Another problem was that their juices aren't organic, and even though I'm not the person who eats only organic stuff, but when it comes to cleansing, I wanna make sure I'm not filling up my body with even more chemicals. I definitely needed to come up with something else, and I'm not sure where you, guys, go for solutions, but most of my problems were solved by Amazon or Ebay;-) This one was no exception! My
solution was Organic Wheat Grass Powder that I found on Amazon, one shot of which provides me with the benefits of the whole daily serving of green vegetables. Plus it boosts you with energy right away, that's why a lot of people drink Wheat Grass Juice in the morning. I personally drink it in the afternoon cause that's when my midday sleepiness tries to take over and I start loosing focus - it helps a lot with that! I buy mine here for
$30.69 for a 60-serving container, which is about 50 cents per serving.
It's a great deal, cause I used to pay $1.50 for a shot of wheat grass
juice, which wasn't even organic. The way I use it is I mix a tablespoon with 12 -16 oz of orange juice, which takes away the smell of the powder. I definitely recommend to give it a try!

Problem: I Can't Function After Sleepless Nights, but I Have No Time to Get Enough Sleep.
How to feel rested and stay focused after little sleep?

Problem: I Want to Cleanse and Detox My Body, but I Have No Time to Follow a Complex Program.
How to do a short and simple detox routine?
Well, I have one, and since I repeat it almost every day, that ads up to create a great effect. What I do is I drink detox tea that has dandelion root in it. I put one bag with two slices of lemon in my water warmer and then pour freshly boiled water over it. That makes about 6 cups of hot tea that I drink throughout the day and, because I use so much water, it doesn't have that strong herbal flavor, so it's very "drinkable". Lemon also helps with the taste and ads additional detoxifying "power";-) I usually buy EveryDay Detox by Traditional Medicinals, and I was very pleased to see that GNC sells it on eBay for the same price as Walmart does, plus ships the tea for free. Feel free to check it out here
and, possibly, save yourself a trip;-)
Problem: I Want to Have a Healthy, Balanced Diet, but I Can't Track the Amount of Nutrients I Consume.
How to make sure your diet gives you all the necessary vitamins and minerals?
For that I use governmental site ChooseMyPlate.gov (former MyPyramid.gov). To track my nutrients intake I go to this page of the site.
Here you create a profile which allows the system to calculate how many
calories, minerals and vitamins you'll need each day to maintain a
healthy body weight. After that you can start entering the food you ate
throughout the day. As you're adding your meals, you see various charts
and tables giving you details about your nutrition. Once you're done
entering, you can click on Nutrient Intake Report and you'll see a break
down of all the vitamins and minerals you consumed, and comparison with
how much you were supposed to get. It will even say how each vitamin
and mineral affects your health, so you can see right away what the
source of some of the problems you have might be. The way I use it is I
enter everything I plan to eat the next day, and if I go over on some
stuff, I adjust my plan. If I go under - I
simply make up the difference
with supplements, that I first dissolve in water to make sure they are
absorbed properly when I take them. The site might seem confusing at
first, but once you get used to it, you'll be amazed how beneficial it
is for your health to be able to see what you miss on!
Guys, please let me know how you've been solving those problems. And if you used any of the products I did, please share your review with us!

I love all these tips, Maria! Can't wait to read more of your series. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Mia;-)))
DeleteGREAT tips....we drink the same detox tea :)
ReplyDeleteOh, you do? How do you like it?
DeleteLike your tips! But still i prefer to drink natural juices made of vegetables. Well, it takes time to wash the machine after squeezing, but at least I know what I drink. I'm crazy about the contents :))
ReplyDeleteHa-ha, I am too;-) that's why I choose to drink organic wheat grass and not the juices from other places. As for juicing at home, I just don't have time whatsoever to make all the mess and then clean it up:-(
DeleteSuch a great blog post idea! I just recommend you write them shorter, because they are very informative, I just prefer reading shorter blog posts, although I always write long posts :D
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to read more of those!
